Project AWARE
The Project AWARE Foundation is a growing movement of scuba divers protecting the ocean planet – one dive at a time.
They focus on two major ocean issues –Sharks in Peril and Marine Debris, or trash in our ocean. Truly, there are many conservation issues converging on our ocean planet at once, but they are concentrating on these two serious problems where scuba divers are uniquely positioned to directly and positively affect real, long-term change.
Be part of the Project AWARE global movement! Take action by creating or joining a Dive for Debris event or support or create your own fundraising event! For further information visit the Project AWARE Action Zone!
Total Diver Training is a supporter of Project AWARE, and our PADI Course Director Andy Stewart is New Zealand's only 100% AWARE Instructor! We include a Project AWARE component to our instructor training, teach AWARE Shark Specialty Course at Diver and Instructor level, as well as organise Dive for Debris clean up dives. For more info on Andy's Project AWARE activities go to his Project AWARE page.
